Shaklee Basic H Review and Sample Giveaway!

As I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, I recently started using some of Shaklee's cleaning products.  My independent sales distributor, Rebecca Colby, of Waterways, would like to offer my readers a chance to win a sample of their famous Basic H2 cleaning concentrate!

Rebecca generously sent me a bottle of the Shaklee Basic H2 cleaning concentrate and 3 spray bottles to mix.  It's pretty amazing what you get out of one bottle - 2 drops (seriously, 2 measly drops) makes a 16 oz bottle of window cleaner, 1/4 teaspoon makes a 16 oz bottle of all-purpose cleaner, and 1 1/2 teaspoons makes a 16 oz bottle of stronger de-greasing all-purpose cleaner.  To wash your floors, all it takes is one tablespoon in a gallon of water.  There are also tons of other ways to use Basic H2!

My favorite uses are:
Floors - no residue and no smell left behind - just clean floors!
Dusting - I used the window cleaning solution and pretty much dusted my whole house - perfect! Wet dusting is more efficient and deeper cleaning than dry cloth dusting, but I don't like the residue left behind from waxy furniture polish.  This was perfect.  It also took crayon right off of my laminate-topped TV stand.
Cleaning the microwave - One of my most hated kitchen tasks, because how many times do you have to use like half a bottle of cleaner to get it clean, and then your microwave smells like chemical cleaning product?  Yuck!  This did a great job cutting through all the junk with no scent - loved it!
My embarrassing before pic (I'm blaming my husband for this, and if you click it, you'll get to see it even larger...gah!):

and here's after (shiny clean!):

And you'll never believe this one - Rebecca sent me some fact sheets about Shaklee products and one of the uses for Basic H2 is that it's good for plants!  I decided to spray some of the window washer solution on a sad little droopy plant I have, and seriously 12 hours later it had perked up beautifully!  I wish I had taken a "before" picture of it!  Who knew?

The cost breakdown is also interesting.  A16 oz bottle of  Basic H2 makes 48 gallons of cleaner at a cost of 22 cents a gallon.  If you only used it for window cleaning, that bottle would make you 1456 gallons of window cleaner, at a cost of less than ONE PENNY per gallon.

My favorite things about this cleaner are that it gets the job done with no residue and no scent.  It was practically like cleaning with plain water, only getting the results of a cleaning solution!   I also really like that everything from Shaklee is super-concentrated, so it's a lot less wasteful packaging and it feels great to have to use such a little amount of product to get a job done.  In addition, Shaklee is the original "green" cleaning company, and it really makes me happy to use less chemicals and nasty stuff around my house!

Now on to the giveaway!  Rebecca is giving away sample packets of the Basic H2 cleaner to 5 of my readers!  Each sample will make 2 bottles of cleaning solution - one window washer and one all-purpose.  That's right, this tiny little vial will make 2 full bottles of cleaner!

I am excited to learn more. I want to try this on my houseplants too. Did you spray the leaves or the soil or both?

Good question - I sprayed the leaves, and then I also poured a little (probably an ounce?) into the soil, as well. It was literally just hours later that the plant looked totally different!
